We're Turning 1 Year Old!

Happy 1st Bithday, Tick:Tock Cosmetics!

Yeah...our baby has almost turned one year old! It seems like just yesterday we mixed up the first batches (which we never got to release, but I think it was a good thing) in my kitchen.

From Left to Right: Two-Timing, Hourglass, Sundial,
Oh-Nine-Hundred, Big Ben, Salvador Dali, Alarm Clock, and Digital.
From that point, we had the color names for the original 14 colors we wanted ready for the launch of our company. However, when we went to order more supplies, we discovered that our supplier no longer offered ANY of the colors we had used...so, it was back to the drawing board! But not for long, because once we got the new ingredients, we set to work to create those origianl 14 colors, which were Two-Timing, Hourglass, Sundial, Oh-Nine-Hundred, Cuckoo, Big Ben, Salvador Dali, Alarm Clock, Metronome, Pocket Watch, High Noon, Grandfather Clock, Time Square, and Digital.

Abby Rose Fund!! Special Color On Sale NOW!

Hello Lovelies!

As many of you may know, we care a lot about other indie cosmetics companies like ourself. It is for this reason that we feel the need to reach out and help someone else that we are connected to through the indie cosmetics world.

Our good friend, Becca Love [Lucky 107], has a little sister named Abby Rose who is 13 years old and in dire need of a kidney transplant. Her family has set up a charity fund for donations to help them offset the cost of her transplant.

We felt the call to help out, and have made a special color that will be for sale in our store for $5 for a full size jar and 100% of the proceeds (from the sale of this color, not shipping) will go to the Abby Rose Fund. Our current goal is to sell 20 of these eye shadows to help Abby and her family during this very difficult time.

Abby Rose {Over bare skin, IESB Milky Way, and IESB Black Hole}

Abby Rose {in the jar!}

If you would like to make a donation, you can also donate directly to the fund via paypal to this email address [ AbbyRoseFund@comcast.net ].

Thanks everyone and we hope that you can help out!

Happy March!

Hello Lovelies!

Well...somehow, I have made it through the most stressful/scary play I have ever been in. There were things going wrong every single night until the curtain rose on opening night, and somehow, providence decided that it would go perfectly and wonderfully, and luckily made the experience worth it. :-)

But now, it is all over, and I am SOOOOO ready to jump back into Tick:Tock just in time for Spring and Summer!

First of all, I have to thank Elizbeth for being the best best friend EVER, by being here for my through all of the struggles of school. Seriously. This company would not be growing the way it has if it had not been for her. She steps up and does what needs to be done, especially when I am too busy. AND on top of that, she comes up with some of the most creative colors I have ever seen. She continues to amaze me with her talents and I am so thankful to have her. :-)

Secondly, I want to let everyone know that we both appreciate the kindness and understanding of our customers. "Real life" as I have been calling it lately, can be very unpredictable and stressful. I know that huge assignments kept me up all night after rehearsals, and well into the morning...just in time to go to class in my pjs because I'm too tired and lazy to care to put on regular clothes. Lol. But now that the play is over, many more evenings are free. I have also started working again a few evenings a week at a local department store selling shoes. While it will take up a few days a week, I am also free the rest of those evenings to work on Tick:Tock, and once we are caught up on orders, it will mean that we will have a lot more free time to do more fun creative things (in fact, after I wrote that, I thought of a color name...What is Free Time? Lol. Cuz I seem to never know what free time is...maybe this is only funny to me. But I would totally buy that color. Elizabeth, if you read this, remind me that we need to make this color).

Thirdly, I'm thinking that I'm going to work on making the foundations line again, but I also think that it is going to require me to get some more matte colors. Which leads to the next thing...that we will most likely be looking into creating some matte eye shadows, as that has been requested several times and I think that a few would be really good to add diversity to the Tick:Tock Originals line.

Well...I need to go to class now, so I am going to have to leave. But I do want to say again thank you so much to everyone. It really means so much to me that we have so many wonderful, understanding customers and I look forward to getting to focus on Tick:Tock again!! I have missed it!!!

hugs,
Tiffany

Happy Valentine's Day from Tick:Tock!

Hello Lovelies!

As I'm sure you are all aware, Valentine's Day is fast approaching! To celebrate, we are releasing our Valentine's Day Collection! And offering a SWEET discount on orders from now until Feb. 10 (so that if you are ordering a gift, we have plenty of time to get it to you!)

First, let's meet the products...

I<3U 4EVA
I<3U 4EVA is a fun, funky purple with a strong green shift. The picture makes it seem kind of grey, but it's like a lavender purple that's slightly grey. It does have an amazing green shift, which is probably what mutes the appearance of the lavender while in the jar.
Hugs & Kisses
Get ready for Hugs & Kisses! This color is a rich, deep, metallic red and is absolutely GORGEOUS. We know that our Tick:Tock Model, Sandra,  is super excited about this color!

Love Bug is a light pink with purple sparkles. It's SUPER adorable, but we didn't use real love bugs, since we're vegan. Hope no one minds. :-P

Friday I'm in Love Lip Gloss
Finally, we've got our new lip gloss called Friday I'm in Love! We posted a LOT about this in our last blog post about all of the new lip glosses, so feel free to read all about it there, as well as check out the new lip glosses!

VALENTINE'S DAY DISCOUNTS!
From now until Feb. 10, you can get $15 off all orders of $40 or more

***(so $40 worth of stuff for ONLY $25...SWEET sale, if we do say so ourselves!)

Just enter the Code: VDAYLOVE at checkout to take advantage of this awesome deal!

Need a reason to order? We have 3 awesome *cough*kind of silly*cough* reasons!

  1. It's an easy way to get lots of gifts for your friends and co-workers for V-day.
  2. You could even hint to your significant other that it's a sweet deal and you'd love it as a gift for Vday [insert puppy eyes here].
  3. The number 1 reason is this is a GREAT time to also try all of the new eye shadows we just released last night! :-)

Thank you to everyone and have a great Valentine's season with the ones you love!

Hugs,
Tiffany

Introducing: NEW PRODUCTS! Lip Glosses!

Hello Lovelies!

Well, as you may have seen on our Facebook page, we have been busy little bees (Right, Lisa Neff? lol) working on getting our newest products out to you all! We are loving these new lip glosses SO much, we knew we had to get them out to you ladies fast! And now, they are officially out there and up on the webstore! :-D

Want to see a preview?

Here's the first one...Friday I'm In Love!

Friday, I'm in Love Lip Gloss
This color is a mint flavored (referencing Mint Car, maybe? Lol) and is fun pink gloss with a aqua/blue. :-) Oh and it's named after my favorite song, "Friday I'm In Love" by the Cure. Never heard it? CHECK IT OUT NOW! Lol it's so fun and upbeat! It's also the song that the entire wedding party danced to at our ceremony, and I have to say, we danced just as crazy as they do in the video. :-D

The next color (which was one that was created because I LOVE the smell of raspberries and wanted something that I would wear a LOT) is Honeymoon.

Honeymoon Lip Gloss
This color is raspberry flavored and is a semi-frosted color with a red/purple shift to it. It gives that light, subtle sparkle that is absolutely PERFECT for casual, everyday where if you are a fan of lighter glosses like I am. We are also offering the Honeymoon as an eye shadow as well, because it's such a GORGEOUS highlight color! Check it out on the store!

The next color to introduce is definitely a favorite of Elizabeth's and that is Golden Hour!

Golden Hour Lip Gloss
The name comes from a photographer reference, meaning the time of day when the sun is either going down or coming up and photographers love it because of the unique lighting that occurs during that time. :-) And Elizabeth would know cuz she's a pro! [insert pro glitter reference for Leeb. lol.] This color is a lovely golden with a slight red shift and lots of red and gold glitters. It's also cinnamon flavored, to go with that warm sunshine feel. :-)

The final color to show off, is definitely a show off kind of color. First Kiss.

First Kiss Lip Gloss
BOOM! This is an in-your-face red that has lovely red glitter in it. It's also appropriately cherry flavored! Definitely great for dressing up but lightly applied, could even be worn every day if you want to! It's a gorgeous color for sure!

Alright, now that I've given you an idea of how they look, let's talk about packaging options. These glosses are going to be offered in three different ways. The first way is in a 5g jar.

First Kiss shown in a 5g jar!
The positive aspects of the 5g jar is that if you want to store it with your eye shadows and things, it will fit right in! It is also nice for being able to dab your lip brush in easily.

The second option is a squeezy tube.
Honeymoon Lip Gloss shown in Squeezy Tube!
This is positive things about Squeezy Tubes is that they are great for on the go because they are smaller than a regular tube with the wand. I also like that you can squeeze product out on the end and can use your lip brush with this as well. We would like to note that we are planning to phase these tubes out because they do not hold as much product as the Regular tubes.

The final option is what we call just a regular Tall Tube.

Golden Hour Lip Gloss shown in Tall Tube.
This is pretty much your standard lip gloss tube with a lip gloss wand attached to the lid inside, and has a lovely look to it. It also holds the most product. It's nice for on the go, and is less messy and the other two options if you are carrying it around a lot. For me, this is my personal favorite. :-)

We also just released our Valentine's Day collection as well! A post about that will be up shortly! :-D

Hugs,
Tiffany

Updated Colors Photos! Plus more info on 2 new products!

Hello Lovelies!

We are excited to announce that we have given makeovers to two of the Tick:Tock Originals colors!

The first is
BIG BEN

This new Big Ben is a little more funky and has a hint of red shimmer to it. It is also a very different tone from Methusela, which we had noticed had similar tones. So to make them more different and unique, we updated Big Ben!

Second is
POCKET WATCH!

The new Pocket Watch is much more gold now. Before, it had an awkward yellow tone that sometimes overpowered the golden aspect of it. We think everyone will be pleased with the new look on this one! <3

These new shades should be up on the Storenvy in a few days, we need to swatch the colors before we add them. :-)
--- [ <3 ] ---

We had previously mentioned that we had been working on some face powders and I am excited to inform everyone that we have successfully finished work on our finishing powder! It will be part of the line of foundations we hope to have out by February/March!

Introducing...Face Time Finishing Powder! This product is a translucent powder that looks white in the jar but goes on "invisible," so it's great for any skin tone! It helps with reducing shine and adds an airbrushed look to skin! And it's super light weight, which is always nice!

We just finished shooting the promotional shots this evening for it, so now its just a matter of getting labels made and the images back from the photographer! Get excited!

Our second product is actually going to be released with the Valentines day collection, but it will become the first official Tick:Tock Originals Lip Gloss! It's name is Friday I'm in Love (yes, like the song by The Cure! It's been my favorite song since I was a sophomore in high school.) It will become a permanent member of our Storenvy, and hopefully we will be adding new lip gloss colors as the Spring and Summer seasons begin!

Be on the lookout on our Facebook page for more photos of these new products!

Thanks,
Tiff & Leeb

Happy New Year! (Almost!)

Hello Lovelies!

Well, it's been an exciting Christmas season to say the least! With a fashion show one week and a wedding the next, we've been busy but in the best possible way. I know that I personally feel truly blessed by all of the great opportunities we've had and the beautiful memories that were made during this time.

Me and Leeb being super excited about looking super fly, yo! :-D
I have to say, I was super pleased with every single aspect of my wedding. I didn't have anything "go wrong" or freak out about anything, because to be quite honest, I was looking forward to the party. That was what was getting me through the formal feeling and the slight anxiousness of seeing so many people at such an special event. In fact, 146 guests packed into a church set for only about 100...we had to have guests use some of our extra chairs and even some people were standing in the hallway! It's safe to say, Kevin and I are an extremely loved couple, and we are honored to have been shown such love by so many of our friends and family. In fact, Kevin's dad's side of the family came up from Texas, including Kev's step brother Jeremy who was one of his groomsmen. Here's a picture of my ENTIRE family, new and old (both mine and Kevin's side!)

As I said, everything about our wedding was absolutely perfect and the reception was perhaps even more perfect. I had a blast dancing so much! I don't think I even danced that much at both of my proms combined! It was a wonderful time of celebration with friends and family, and all I can say is that I feel so blessed.

Now...now that I've finished reminiscing about my awesome wedding, it's time to talk about some updates.

Firstly, we will be starting the Color of the Month with the beginning of the New Year! This months color is Frozen in Time. The color of the month will be on sale for that entire month for $3 for a full size jar.

Secondly, we are excited to announce that we have begun formulating two new products that we hope to have out sometime in February! There are no official names yet, but we are working on some mineral face powders! The first test was at the fashion show and they seemed to wear well then. The second test was the wedding, and I have to say that I thought they looked great! That's what I am wearing in all of the photos from the wedding!

I'd created basically 4 "shades; Invisible Blend, Shade 01, Shade 02, and Shade 03. I personally prefer the invisible blend because it gets rid of shine and helps airbrush without giving any color, and I always know I can use it on other people, so and Invisible Blend has always been a part of my makeup artistry kit. Shade 01 is the "foundation-like" mineral powder that I wore over a tinted moisturizer at my wedding. I used the tinted moisturizer to give some extra, long wear coverage to my dry skin. A normal combination to oily combination skin type would probably feel completely comfortable without a tinted moisturizer. Shade 02 is about 2 shades darker, and shade 03 is about 2-3 shades darker than that. The nice thing about mineral powders is they are very forgiving colorwise because they blend SOOOOO well. I loved the powders, but I'd like to work on them a bit more, develop some more colors, etc, before we release them. Plus, we need to come up with a cute time-related name. :-)

The blushes are another adventure entirely...lol. We still have a lot to do with shades on those, so keep your eyes out for new info about those!

That's pretty much all for now ladies!

Hope you all have a wonderful New Year! <3

Hugs,
Mrs. Tiffany Mertz
Get used to my new last name, lol. I'm no longer "Rusin."
