Words cannot describe just how thrilled Elizabeth and I are as we anxiously await TUESDAY, when the issues will be available to the public! But...just to give everyone a little taste...

Our little tag on the top says "Tick:Tock...this local venture is laying the foundation for success." HAHA HOW CUTE?!

...of US ON THE COVER, YO!!!! Like I said, we are kind of stoked about this opportunity we've been given to show our local community what we are up to! I am sure many of you will want a chance to see what was said in the article. There is a digital version that should be available sometime after Tuesday, I'm sure, online that you can all read and enjoy!

HOW TO READ:

  1. Click Here. <---Terre Haute Living website.
  2. Scroll Down.
  3. On the right side of the page, you will see a little book flipping it's pages that says "Digital Edition" above it.
  4. Click that little book. It will pop up and you should be able to read the new issue once it's available!
  5. YAY!

You can currently read the last issue that was published to see a little bit into the town that Elizabeth and I call home. :-)

In other news, we have 2 entires in the creative contest going on right now, you can read more about that here. I'm really excited to get more entries! Whoot! The two we are are really awesome so far! I love that they are names I probably wouldn't have thought of myself. :-)

Monsters of Cosmetics: Kind of a PSA.

Hello Lovelies!

It was asked of us a while back whether it was safe to use some colors on lips. We've done the research and we are excited to tell you that all of the following ARE APPROVED for use on lips!

  • Two-Timing
  • Hourglass
  • Sundial
  • Cuckoo
  • Alarm Clock
  • Metronome
  • Time Square
  • High Noon
  • Pocket Watch
  • Grandfather Clock
  • Digital

Here are some colors that are NOT approved for use on lips.

  • Oh-Nine-Hundred
  • Big Ben
  • Salvador Dali

Luckily, it's only 3 colors! In case you are getting kind of worried about why it's not okay to put these on your mouth, here's why...

The culprit is mostly this guy.....
Ferric Ferrocyanide.
Ferric Ferrocyanide in action!!!!!! WATCH OUT!!!!
[Obviously this is not actually what it looks like. lol. just trying to keep some humor going on here.]

He's harmful if ingested ONLY. But, he's totally cool for your eyes, so no worries there!

This is also a good point to mention that we are extremely careful in choosing the colors we use to make our products. For example...

There are several colors we have looked at in the process of choosing our ingredients. HOWEVER, we have turned away ALL colors that contain parabens, which is a preservative added to may mainstream cosmetics. I found this article extremely helpful in my research. One of the main points in the article is that parabens have been linked to causing breast cancer. Please take the time to read it, as it covers a lot of information that I am not going to cover here. :-)

We have also turned away ingredients that contain chromium oxide green, a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and other reproductive harm. He looks kind of like this...
Don't let the smile fool you. He's gonna eat your brains.
He's a green color, so check on the labels of your green pigments before you use them...just in case. It's kind of like checking the closet before going to be. :-)

Another scary monster of cosmetics is called Carmine...

He is made from beetles. Yes. Like the insect kind of beetle. Not the car kind of beetle. Althought, that would still be gross. I wanted to share this little bit from Discovery Science. But to sum it up, Carmine also goes by the name of Cochineal. It is one of those ingredients we don't use. It's just one of the many reason we are able to say that we are a vegan company.

Luckily, you don't have to worry about finding these guys in any of Tick:Tock Cosmetics products now or ever!!

I know I've put this all in a kind of silly package...but it's serious business. I refuse to knowingly put something harmful in our products just because it looks cool. However...a good rule of thumb...use the product for it's intended purpose. If it's an eyeshadow, just use it as an eye shadow. If it's a lipstick, just use it as a lipstick. I know we like to be creative, but let's also be safe in our creativity.

But rest assured, Tick:Tock Cosmetics is about fun colors that are safe!

That's all I've got for now, ladies! Have a great day!

Hugs,
Tiffany

P.S. I just noticed all of the monsters only have one eye. I am not racist against one eyed creatures. Here's a one eyed being that I absolutely LOVE.

You. Are. Welcome.

Time keeps ticking...

Hello Lovelies,

I'm currently chilling at my house, watching America's Next Top Model. I love watching this show. It gets me in the mood for shoots. Which is exciting, because we have a shoot on Tuesday that I am planning (kind of by the seat of my pants) to use for promos for the website. We've got the models, we've got some people to help with hair, we've got the MUA, we've got a kickin' photog....and we've got me in charge of it all. I love being a leader, but it's something I never thought I could be.

I have to admit, last minute shoots are kind of my thing. I mean, the whole Tick:Tock themed shoot that I first did with Elizabeth was pretty much ONLY because I had bought that clock. And we decided we were just gonna go for it. So I grabbed my prom dress and we rocked it out.  In case you haven't seen one of the photos from it...

This was one of my favorite photos from the shoot. (And I super miss my long hair, even though it was super fried at the time this photo was taken) I love modeling, but I think it is only a piece of what makes me skilled at what I do. I don't claim to know how to always "bring it." I'm no Tiny Tyra. But I do think that I have a good eye for making things happen with the things around me in that moment. But I feel like the clock keeps ticking away...and I feel like I'm running out of time to find things.

Ugh. BUT. I will NOT let myself get stressed out. I will take my vibe and bring it for these girls. It's gonna be awesome! I'll make sure I bring more inspiration pictures and things when I can. :-)

I guess that's all for now. Tonight is going to be a fun night, my best friend Jessica is coming out tonight (she is visiting from California) and I've got lots of planning to do tomorrow before work. Maybe I will get to make a trip to Goodwill. :-)

Later!

Hugs,
Tiffany

New Shipping Options!

Hello Lovelies!

Instead of letting the recent events get me down, I'm taking the situation and learning from it. I am making some changes to our shipping options. You will now notice at checkout that there are TWO SHIPPING OPTIONS AVAILABLE.

Standard Shipping

and

*sparkle* DELUXE SHIPPING *sparkle*

Lol. Just trying to keep the mood light, here. :-)

Here is the difference between the two...

With Standard Shipping, you get delivery confirmation [which means that the package is scanned when it is delivered and does not require a signature to be delivered] and it covers the shipping cost.

With  *sparkleDELUXE SHIPPING *sparkle* , you get signature confirmation [which means you must sign for your package to verify that it has been delivered], package insurance [so that in the event your package is lost at any point, the USPS covers the cost to refund you for your items and shipping], and shipping cost.

To be honest, *spark--- [okay, I'm done sparkling that every time...you guys get the joke at this point and I'm just Family Guying it...I'm gonna stop.] Anyways...to be honest, Deluxe Shipping is not much more expensive than our Standard Shipping rates, and it gives everyone here a peace of mind that things will be able to be sorted out. I would recommend if you have ever had issues with packages arriving to your house that you opt for the Deluxe just to be safe. However, both options are available. And it is entirely your choice.

If you choose to get Deluxe Shipping and something happens to you package, I will help you first #1 try to find it so that we can maybe fix the problem first before going straight to getting a refund. #2 Help get you information on how to get a refund for the product. #3 Once I have been issued a refund by the USPS, I will send you your replacement products.

Now...for the not fun part. If you get Standard Shipping and something happens to your package...I will #1 first try to help you find it so that we can try to solve the problem by getting the package I originally sent to you. However, if we can not get your package to you for whatever reason, I will give you a special coupon for 50% off your next order, plus I will pay for the cost of adding signature confirmation and package insurance that order as well. And I will also probably feel bad, because the whole situation is never fun.

What I ask of you...simply be patient with me under these kinds of circumstances. I am still figuring this little world out. I'm getting the hang out it, though. :-) And I'm making some great friends.

I guess the saying goes, "You can't please everyone." I know I can't, but I still try regardless.

That's all for this little informative entry. Tomorrow will be way more exciting and fun, I promise! I'll do a little MAKEUP OF THE DAY posting or something. Try to lighten the mood.

I love you all and appreciate your support so much! Thanks again!

Hugs,
Tiffany
